Cacao Ceremony
& Dance Ritual
A shamanic exploration of the heart
Working with ceremonial grade cacao through singing, chanting, movement and journaling, this ceremony will focus on our heart as a guide to develop more freedom within our soul.
Cacao, also known as Raw Chocolate, is considered a "sacred plant medicine" by most indigenous traditions in Central and South America. It is celebrated as the Food of the Gods and has been used in Shamanic ceremonies for thousands of years. This connecting, heart-opening plant is nowadays still used for healing ritual, meditation and shamanic journeying.
Raw cacao is one of the most dense superfoods, and is the highest source of magnesium on the planet. Additionally, it contains anandamide, a so-called "bliss chemical” that works with the heart's ability to expand, supports emotional clearing, and deepen the connection with self and with life. It is believed that the spirit of cacao has the power to reveal and unlock the secrets of the soul, bringing forth our ultimate truth in a way that is soft and lasting. However, Sacred Cacao does not act like a psychedelic. It does not take you on its trip, but facilitates your own.
We will open a space to help understand how to use this medicine in connecting with higher energies as well our own inner guidance. Intention will be put towards the release of emotional and energetic blocks, subconscious programming, opening and clearing of the energy centers, and centering into our essential light.
As you settle into the practice, you can expect to feel a gentle expansion of the heart chakra, and a new quality of awareness. You will be guided on a different meditations and invited to explore your personal connection to the cacao spirit. She could show you what is unseen, the next steps on your path or simply ask you to come out and play. The ceremony will hold space for both intense inner work and playful expression.
